dps:
a long walk, alone
I walked for such a long time
I walked so far from my dear sea
To find a place where Neptune
Would be too far to salt the breeze
I found a place where a lone bushman
Stared at the oar I held in hand
He asked ‘What’s that you carry,
What use have you of a winnowing fan?’
I dug a hole real deep and
Fixed the oar in that there earth
I looked up to the heavens
pressed my hands together
and gave thanks

Men in a war
If they've lost a limb
Still feel that limb
As they did before
He lay on a cot
He was drenched in a sweat
He was mute and staring
But feeling the thing
He had not
